Agrace opens new hospice care office in La Crosse County

A new option for end-of-life care has arrived in La Crosse County with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Agrace’s new 3rd Street North office.

The nonprofit organization specializes in in-home hospice care and grief support services, addressing what officials describe as a growing need for local, compassionate end-of-life care in the community.

Agrace Selected as Preferred Hospice Provider to Crossing Rivers Health

Agrace, Wisconsin’s largest nonprofit hospice, is pleased to announce it is working with Crossing Rivers Health to take over the health system’s hospice program. The two organizations have also entered into a Preferred Partner Agreement to support the local community’s ongoing needs for high quality end of life care. This agreement comes three months after Agrace’s preferred partnership with Oakwood Village Communities and supports Agrace’s rapid growth across the state of Wisconsin.

Crossing Rivers Health, based in Prairie du Chien, has decided to close its hospice service line to focus on their core healthcare services. Current Wisconsin Crossing Rivers Health Hospice patients will have the option to transition to Agrace’s care by the end of September.

Agrace Opens Western Wisconsin Office in La Crosse

Compared with 100 years, 15 minutes is no time at all. But for two Madison-area World War II veterans, 15 minutes on Tuesday meant the world.

Preflight, U.S. Marine veteran Henry “Hank” Long and U.S. Army veteran Lew Harned shook hands, exchanging brief biographies lives and memories from the warthey have in common.
This was Long’s second Dream Flight and Harned’s third, so when the two aged warriors were wheeled into the hangar Tuesday, their expectations were cut and dried— a short safety discussion with the Dream Flights crew and their families, followed by two 15-minute flights over Dane County. Agrace to host walking events for grieving community members

Agrace Grief Support Specialists to Host Support Groups in July

Local adults and children living in southern Wisconsin who are grieving can find hope and healing with the help of grief support specialists at Agrace.

This July, grief specialists at the Agrace Grief Support Center, 2906 Marketplace Drive in Fitchburg, will host groups for adults who are grieving the death of a person. Wisconsin Hospice and Palliative Care Council: Applauds state Assembly for approving bill establishing a State Palliative Care Council

Today, the State Assembly approved Assembly Bill 23, a bill that would establish a state Palliative Care Council.  The Wisconsin Hospice and Palliative Care Association (WiHPCA) strongly supports this legislation, which would ultimately help increase awareness and utilization of this specialized type of medical care throughout the state. The Assembly Committee on Health, Aging, and Long-Term Care voted 14-1 on March 13 to recommend approval of this legislation. Continue Reading…


‘Race for Agrace’ Returns to Dodgeville May 17

If someone you know is aging, seriously ill, dying or grieving, they can turn to Agrace for support. A local, nonprofit, community-supported health care organization, Agrace is well-known for its compassionate hospice care, palliative care and grief support throughout southwest Wisconsin, provided by a team based in Dodgeville.

To help ensure all area residents have access to its health services, Agrace is holding its second annual Race for Agrace fundraiser in Dodgeville on Saturday, May 17. The family-friendly event includes a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile walk, and strollers are welcome on the course. Individuals and teams can race at 9 a.m., starting at Lands’ End Comer Center in Dodgeville. Participants can also choose a virtual option, and race on any course of their choosing.
