- Build clinical skills and relationships through:
- monthly training sessions on symptom management, hospice principles and peer support throughout your first year,
- an individualized onboarding plan in year two with regular touch-base meetings with your supervisor designed to build confidence in a supportive environment, and
- ongoing support from Agrace’s Clinical Education Team, as needed.
- Gain more varied experience than most hospital departments offer:
- Care for patients of all ages and demographics, from pediatric to geriatric.
- Treat patients with symptoms of cardiac, neuro and pulmonary illnesses, as well as dementia, cancer and rare diseases.
- See patients with varying acuity.
- Choose among working at Agrace’s acute-care inpatient unit in Madison, or in patients’ homes as a case manager, visit nurse or admissions nurse.
- Collaborate with experienced hospice physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, spiritual & grief counselors and pharmacists.
- Be part of an interdisciplinary team that prioritizes patients’ goals and preferences and puts nurses in a lead role in coordinating care.
