What is planned giving?

A planned gift is a way to meet your personal financial goals while you provide Agrace with vital, long-term support.

Tailoring a gift to fit your financial, estate and tax plans has a number of benefits. You can gain tax rewards, maintain your financial security and make a truly meaningful contribution to Agrace’s future. Your gift creates a personal legacy by helping to ensure that Agrace’s high-quality, compassionate care will be available in our communities for generations to come.

As you consider the planned giving options described below, think about how much you would like to give, but also what you want to accomplish with your gift. The answers may help you select the giving option best suited to your wishes.

Agrace recommends that you consult your legal counsel and/or financial advisors before making a gift. Their assistance can help you make the largest possible gift to Agrace at the least possible net expense. They will consider your personal financial circumstances to help you receive maximum benefits from existing tax laws.

“As a nurse, I understood the importance of end-of-life care. But it wasn't until I experienced hospice in my own family that I realized how profound its impact could be. Making a gift to Agrace through my will honors the memory of my loved ones, and it also ensures that others will always be able to receive excellent end-of-life care.”

— Marsha Rather, RN, PhD

“I learned about Agrace only after a time when I really could have used their help. I want to do whatever I can to make sure that Agrace's services remain available and strong, now and in the future. When Agrace offered their charitable gift annuity, I jumped at the chance to invest.”

— Cliff Voegeli, Agrace donor and past volunteer

Document Your Wishes with FreeWill

Agrace partners with FreeWill, a secure tool that helps you easily create or update your will in just 20 minutes.

Having a will ensures your loved ones are cared for and protects your wishes after your death. It allows you to:

  • Designate guardians for minor children and pets.
  • Distribute your assets and belongings according to your wishes.
  • Create peace of mind for your family.

By using FreeWill, you’ll also have the chance to incorporate a gift to Agrace in your plans. This step is completely optional, but it would ensure our quality care is available to people facing life-limiting illnesses for generations to come.
