Visiting Agrace:
If you have any questions before visiting Agrace, please call (800) 553-4289
Many people who believe in Agrace’s mission wish for a way to help support what we do, but are not comfortable working directly with patients. Fortunately, there are many ways you can lend a hand, meet new friends and get a sense of purpose through volunteering with Agrace.
Explore the volunteer roles described below to see what you’d do, and where and when you’d do it. The minimum age and training requirements will also help you choose roles that may be right for you. Please call (608) 327-7163, or email us with your questions.
Make coffee drinks and take meal orders at our café, which serves visitors, staff and volunteers.
Bake cookies, make soup, prep veggies, prepare patient meals, and more!
Develop and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces and abundant kitchen gardens. Agrace has lovely grounds and gardens, and needs help seasonally to maintain their beauty for the pleasure of our patients and visitors. Work under the direction of our landscape coordinator, with other volunteers. A wonderful way to make new friends who garden, too!
Provide a warm, personal welcome to visitors, and walk them to where they are going. Be the first, friendly face people see when they come to visit a patient or call on a staff member.
Use your office and/or computer skills to support Agrace staff on a variety of administrative projects. Support teams such as Finance, Admissions, Human Resources, Volunteer Services, the Agrace Foundation, and more.
Like flexibility and variety? Help is often needed at events such as golf outing fundraisers, run/walks, kitchen events and more! It’s one of the most fun ways you can support Agrace’s mission, and often requires only occasional, seasonal or “day-of” participation.
Do you have experience in a social service or human service field? Work alongside a trained grief counselor to help facilitate a grief support group at Agrace or in the community. Be a caring listener and advisor for people who are grieving a death, and help guide them on the path to healthy survivorship.
Did a family member or close friend use Agrace’s services? Are you comfortable sharing your opinion in a group setting? Our Patient & Family Partnership Council is an advisory group of past-served family members who give constructive feedback to help guide and improve Agrace’s care and support. Members meet monthly at Agrace to discuss select topics. Learn more about joining the Council by visiting this page for prospective members.
