Employees’ concern for patients who need help paying for end-of-life care is the impetus behind a local fundraiser in Fitchburg. On Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care will hold its 3rd annual Race for Agrace event—a grassroots effort that started with the compassionate concern of one Agrace nurse.

Local families who have experienced the death of a loved one can find help coping with their grief at a free, half-day camp hosted by Agrace HospiceCare in October.
Children five years or older and their parent or guardian can join grief specialists from Agrace on October 19, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Baraboo Civic Center, 124 2nd Street in Baraboo.

Hospice patient Julianne Dick was given some relief during one of the hottest weeks of summer when representatives from Agrace HospiceCare and Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area arrived at her Lyndon Station home with a brand-new air conditioner July 23. This gift of safety and comfort was made possible by a donation to Habitat from Walmart of Baraboo and a Dodgeville, Wis.-area Farm and Fleet.

Thanks to special staff training, the Agrace Thrift Store in Janesville is being recognized as “dementia-friendly” by the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Rock County.
On Friday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m., Agrace Thrift Store staff, volunteers and supporters will host a ceremony celebrating the store’s new “dementia-friendly” status. The community is invited to dress in purple for dementia awareness and visit the store at 2043 Humes Rd, Janesville, for a ribbon-cutting presentation.

Nate Rogers was frustrated while looking for a place where he could relocate his small business from his dad’s garage more than 10 years ago.
“I had a tough time finding a spot. There was nothing really available when I started my business, and anything that was available was a huge payment that I just couldn’t afford,” Rogers said.
