Agrace Grief Support Specialists to Host Support Groups in July

Local adults and children living in southern Wisconsin who are grieving can find hope and healing with the help of grief support specialists at Agrace.
This July, grief specialists at the Agrace Grief Support Center, 2906 Marketplace Drive in Fitchburg, will host groups for adults who are grieving the death of a person. Groups provide emotional and peer support in a professionally led group setting and require advance registration.
- Bridges is for adults grieving the death of any loved one. In July, meetings are July 2 and 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and July 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Agrace Grief Support Center.
- Family Game Night is an event for families with children aged 5+ who are grieving the death of a person. Pizza and games will be provided so children can have the freedom to enjoy themselves with you or with other kids in a relaxed setting. This event will take place Thursday, July 24, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and costs $5 per person to attend.
- Spouse/Partner Loss Support Group is a six-week grief support group for adults who are grieving the death of a spouse or partner. This group is most appropriate for participants after it has been 2 months since the death occurred and meets for six consecutive weeks. The next session meets in-person on Tuesdays, July 8 to August 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Journey Through Grief is a six-week, virtual grief support group for adults who are grieving a death. This group is most appropriate for participants after it has been 2 months since the death occurred and meets for six consecutive weeks. The group meets on Fridays, July 11 to August 15, from 9 a.m.–11 a.m.
- Grief on the Move is a light, physical exercise that can ease pain that comes with grieving. Move at your own pace on the paved Badger State Trial in Fitchburg. This event is open to any adult who is grieving the death of any person and will take place on Friday, July 11 and 25, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
There is no fee for Agrace grief support if a participant’s family member was served by Agrace Hospice Care in the past 12 months. Modest fees may apply for others, and fees can be lowered or waived, if needed.
One-on-one grief support is also available in-person, by phone or video chat. This support is open to anyone, even if the person who died did not have hospice care.
