As reported by WMTV15
Coming up next week, Agrace Foundation will be hosting its Race for Agrace for the first time in Janesville.
Beth Larson, the chief development officer of Agrace Foundation, visited WMTV on Tuesday and shared with us more about the work the non-profit does in the community.
Larson said this non-profit has been an organization for more than four decades. It started as a volunteer organization with providing end of life experiences.
“We know what is important is having a supported, dignified end of life,” Larson said.
It has now grown into the largest hospice organization in Wisconsin.
She said the community’s support towards fundraisers makes a tremendous difference in the resources they provide to patients. They will be hosting a Race for Agrace on October 19 at Palmer Park in Janesville. Families are invited to gather at 11 a.m. and remember their loved ones.
“We built this event really about bringing the community together to support Agrace and together each other because we know after loss, grief so much easier when we’re together,” said Larson. “This event is about getting together with your friends and honoring someone you lost. Just finding a way to remember them and supporting families after the loss as well.”
Participants can either do a 5K or a 1-mile walk. Registration is $15, which will directly support services the non-profit provides. If you are interested in attending, click here.
