Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care has appointed Greg Dombrowski, Derrick Smith, Mary Bonte Spath and Sheila Boothby Stevens to its Foundation board. Agrace is Wisconsin’s largest nonprofit community hospice and palliative care agency, providing end-of-life care and related services to people in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The Agrace Foundation Board guides fundraising, helping to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
Greg Dombrowski
Dombrowski, of Madison, Wis., has served as regional president of Johnson Financial Group-Madison since its inception in 1996. Johnson Financial Group serves privately held companies and their owners and executives, offering commercial, investment, insurance and private banking services. Dombrowski is a certified public accountant (CPA). He holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business administration from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa. In addition to serving on Agrace’s board, Dombrowski also serves on the boards of Overture Foundation, United Way of Dane County and Friends of Wisconsin Public Television.
Derrick L. Smith
Smith, of Madison, is the director of development for the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID). WID is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was previously the director of strategic planning and special projects for Catholic Charities, Madison and an area manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific. Smith serves as the chair of the board of directors at the Urban League of Greater Madison, is one of the chapter founders and board members of 100 Black Men of Madison, Inc., and is the immediate past president of the Madison Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Mary Bonte Spath
Bonte Spath, of Oxford, Wis., is chief financial officer of Kalahari Resorts, a full-service vacation destination with meeting and convention facilities in Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Bonte Spath has been a certified public accountant for 35 years, with previous experience working for Morton, Nehls & Tierney CPA Firm in Madison (who merged with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP). Bonte Spath earned an MBA in decision support systems from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. She is currently a board member/treasurer for the Todd and Shari Nelson Family Foundation, based in the Wisconsin Dells.
Sheila Boothby Stevens
Stevens is a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, a firm with 13 offices across the United States. She helps clients preserve and protect their wealth and plan for its stewardship in the future. She regularly lectures on estate planning and charitable giving and has co-authored a chapter on revocable trusts in Eckhardt’s Workbook for Wisconsin Estate Planners. Among other professional activities, Stevens is a member of the Madison Estate Council and a director of the Wisconsin Planned Giving Council.
