Agrace has appointed Dr. MJ (Mindy) Shah vice president of medical services. Agrace is a local, nonprofit hospice and palliative care agency that provides care and support to people with serious illnesses across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
As vice president of medical services, Shah will oversee Agrace’s team of staff hospice and palliative board-certified doctors who care for Agrace patients in their homes and at Agrace’s inpatient units in Janesville and Madison.
Shah will also lead Agrace’s team of nurse practitioners and oversee PalliaHealth by Agrace. PalliaHealth is a set of specialized, supportive palliative care services for people who need advanced symptom management and stress relief as they undergo treatment for serious illnesses.
A Middleton resident, Shah joined Agrace in 2015. She is board certified in geriatrics, and in hospice and palliative medicine. Before coming to Agrace, she worked in Rochester, N.Y., in hospice and long-term care. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where she also completed geriatric medicine and palliative care fellowships.
“We are so excited to have Dr. Shah move into this new role within Agrace,” said Pam Edwards, Chief Clinical Officer for Agrace. “Her years of experience and expertise will bring strong leadership to the Agrace team and our presence in the community.”
