Find peace and reflection at the Butterfly Memorial in the gardens of our Agrace campus in Janesville or along the Memorial Walk at our Agrace campus in Madison.

When personalized butterflies are added each year to our beautiful, hand-made iron trellises, it’s a tribute to those who have left a lasting imprint on our lives. You can purchase personalized butterflies for the Butterfly Memorial in Janesville or Madison in honor or memory of someone who has touched your life.

Your tribute also helps support essential services from Agrace. This includes Care for All—a program that provides free or discounted care for patients who have no other way to pay for the services they need from Agrace.

 

Butterfly Dedication Events 

Butterflies purchased throughout the year are engraved and added to the memorials each summer. A dedication is then held to bring friends and family together to honor their loved one. After one year on display on the trellises, butterflies are removed and returned to the purchaser as a keepsake, or you can choose to keep the butterfly on the memorial each year with an annual gift.

  • Butterflies purchased by June 2nd, 2025, will be included in the 2025 Butterfly Dedication.
  • The 2025 Butterfly Dedication Open House in Janesville and Madison will be held in August of 2025. Families are welcome to join us at any point during the open house to spend time together and see their butterfly on the trellises. The names of the butterflies added will be read several times throughout the open house. Butterflies purchased by June 2nd, 2025, will be added to the Janesville and Madison memorials and recognized at each respective open house. These events are rain or shine! If weather is a concern (thunderstorms, hail, etc.), information will be posted here.
