ROCKFORD, ILL. — In just a few hours a week, hospice volunteers make a difference in the lives of people receiving end-of-life care, and help patients’ families, too.
Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care, a nonprofit, community hospice serving patients and families in northern Illinois, will host a volunteer information fair Friday, July 28. The event will take place at Agrace’s Rockford office, 7290 Argus Drive.
Agrace has an immediate need for volunteers 18 or older to provide companionship and support to its patients and their families living in Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone and McHenry counties in northern Illinois.
The volunteer information fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 28. Prospective volunteers will have the opportunity to ask questions about what it is like to volunteer with hospice patients and can complete an application.
Interested prospective volunteers may also inquire about volunteering by contacting Agrace at (815) 394-1530 or (800) 553-4289.
Founded in 1978 by volunteers, Agrace is a nonprofit, community-supported health care agency dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to patients and families facing serious or life-limiting illnesses. With offices in Rockford, Ill., and Madison, Janesville and Baraboo, Wis., Agrace serves more than 800 patients every day throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
