Agrace has hired John Hromyak of Verona as its foundation director. Agrace is a nonprofit, community-supported health care organization that provides hospice care, supportive (palliative) care, non-medical personal care, adult day services and grief support to residents of southern Wisconsin. The Agrace Foundation coordinates donations and fundraising to support Agrace’s mission.
As foundation director, Hromyak will oversee all fund development programs and fundraising efforts to help meet the current and future needs of Agrace. He is the main contact for donors in the greater Dane County area to help them realize the impact their gifts make in the community.
“We’re so fortunate to have John bring his expertise and passion to support Agrace’s mission,” said Marcia Whittington, chief development officer for Agrace. “He is dedicated to helping people throughout southern Wisconsin connect to the resources they need during some of the most challenging times of their lives.”
Hromyak’s community experience includes serving as executive director for the Wisconsin FFA Foundation, a Madison-based nonprofit which supports agricultural education and youth leadership development, and annual fund director at Edgewood College, Madison. His career includes development and leadership experience in major and planned giving, corporate sponsorships, events and grants. Hromyak holds a master’s degree in business administration from Edgewood College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Agrace’s hospice and supportive (palliative) care services help people across southern Wisconsin who have serious illness or life-limiting illnesses. While Medicare, Medicaid and private health insurance cover the cost of these services for most Agrace patients, donations to the Agrace Foundation allow Agrace to provide other essential programs and services that are not funded by insurance, such as charity care, community grief support, CNA advancement, the Agrace Wish Program and more.
