The Agrace Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation has appointed Tracy Buglass of Lyndon Station to lead its newest Baraboo office, located within the Baraboo Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center at 600 Chestnut Street.
Buglass has worked for Agrace since 2013 and will now serve as the main point of contact for the community to request educational presentations related to the issues of serious illness, death, dying and grief. Buglass coordinates with workplaces, civic clubs, faith groups and senior living communities who are interested in learning more about hospice and the ways Agrace can provide care and support through any stage of serious illness. To request a presentation, contact Buglass at (608) 327-7209.
“Agrace epitomizes the beauty of gentle, loving care. It was impressive to observe the manner in which Agrace caretakers saw and responded to needs that I did not see,” said Dave Hutchens, Pastor of Walnut Hill Bible Church in Baraboo and member of Agrace’s Baraboo community engagement committee. “Should hospice care ever be needed in my family, I would not hesitate for one moment to ask Agrace to help me care for the ones I love.”
Agrace expanded from Dane county to begin serving Sauk, Iowa and Columbia counties in 2013. Since then, Agrace’s Baraboo-based team, working from its 1670 South Boulevard office in Baraboo, has grown to serve more than 100 local hospice patients and their families each day.
While hospice services are paid for by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances, some patients do not have coverage for the care they need. As part of its nonprofit mission, Agrace does not turn any eligible patient away regardless of their ability to pay thanks to its Care for All charitable care program. Care for All is generously funded by community donations and proceeds from Agrace’s fundraising events.
Two such events will take place in Baraboo this year: the Round with Agrace golf outing at Trappers Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells on June 19, and the Night at the Circus event at Circus World in Baraboo on August 4. To learn how to sponsor, attend or get involved with these local events, contact Buglass or visit www.agrace.org/events.
