Nurse Practitioner Mary Spiller has joined the medical services team at Agrace, a nonprofit, community-supported health care organization that provides hospice care, supportive (palliative) care, non-medical personal care, adult day care and grief support across southern Wisconsin.
A board-certified Patient Advocate and Advanced Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, Spiller is a member of Agrace’s Supportive Care team. In this role, she provides Supportive (palliative) Care Consultations for people who need more relief from symptoms of a serious or chronic illness. Supportive Care can help people live better at any stage of a serious illness and begins with detailed, in-home visits from a Supportive Care nurse practitioner or doctor.
Spiller, of Hancock, Wis., holds a Master of Health Administration degree from National Louis University and earned a Master of Science—Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Northern Illinois University. She has more than a decade of experience in palliative medicine and comes to Agrace from Warrenville Cancer Center, Warrenville, Ill. In addition to her palliative medicine specialization, Spiller has experience as a certified trauma nurse specialist.
“Mary has a wealth of knowledge and experience helping patients through advanced symptom management,” said Nancy Ryan, Nurse Practitioner, Agrace Supportive Care director. “Her compassion, experience and unique combination of advanced nursing skills will bring tremendous health care value to people in the Sauk and Columbia County communities she will serve.”
