Grief Support

When we experience the death of someone close to us, it is natural and normal to grieve our loss. Grief lasts longer than most people expect, and we may need support beyond what family or friends can provide. Agrace HospiceCare offers grief services to anyone in the community experiencing loss due to death, even if your loved one was not a Agrace HospiceCare patient.

Grief Support Groups Offered at various locations throughout Agrace HospiceCare’s service area, grief support groups provide a safe and supportive environment to talk about thoughts and feelings, and to find support from others who are sharing similar experiences. View our upcoming grief support groups on our calendar. Introduction to Grief is an informative session for adults that covers the common reactions of those who are grieving the death of a loved one. This session offers suggestions on how to navigate the grieving process and provides additional information about Agrace HospiceCare grief support groups offered at Agrace HospiceCare. Holiday Remembrance Programs Holiday Remembrance Programs give those who have suffered a loss the opportunity to find strength and fellowship as they enter the holiday season. Music, readings and a time for remembering those who have died are included in these programs. They also give participants information on coping skills and creating holiday rituals. Memorial Quilt Dedication Ceremonies

Agrace HospiceCare invites families of patients to create a memorial quilt square to celebrate the life of the loved one they lost. These squares become part of larger quilts, which are then dedicated during these events. Following the ceremony, quilts are displayed at Agrace HospiceCare for public viewing. "Just a note to let you know my husband and I truly enjoyed your Memorial Quilt Dedication ceremony held at the Emmanuel Church in Janesville. My mother's quilt square was awesome and the two completed quilts on display were so beautiful. This is the first chance I had to let you know how much we appreciated being a part of this dedication. I love to see the smile on Mom's face while holding her beloved "Inky". I am so glad I was able to capture that picture of them and have it transferred onto the quilt square.  It couldn't have been a better choice.

Agrace HospiceCare Memorial Brick Walk

A place of peace and reflection, Agrace HospiceCare’s Memorial Brick Walk winds around the fountain and pond on the grounds of Agrace HospiceCare’s Madison campus. The walk offers patients, family members and other visitors a quiet reminder of those who have left an imprint on our lives. New bricks are dedicated once a year.
